This  Sunday, July 21, 2024, David Hamilton is our guest preacher (and a member of our church family).

He starts with Psalm 23, the most popular Bible verse, and asks, "What does it mean?" Maybe it means we work hard, engage, and think critically, and then we can also rest, knowing we have a Shepherd who has our back!

This  Sunday, June 23, 2024, Rev. Nina Swift is our guest preacher (and a member of our church family).

Nina asks, "Who are you, who am I? What are our needs, wants, and abilities?" She tells us God made us, and when we listen to ourselves, we are listening to God!

Sunday, June 16, 2024 - Fourth Sunday after Pentecost

This  Sunday, June 16, 2024, David Brown is our guest preacher (and a member of our church family).

He was compelled to preach this Sunday because it was Father's Day, and he wanted to honor his father and all fathers. He talks of the unconditional love that his father gave him. And he celebrates duty, devotion, and, most of all, love.

Sunday, May 26, 2024 - First Sunday after Pentecost

This  Sunday, May 26, 2024, Gina Boisse is our guest preacher (and a member of our church family).

She tells us we have to know who we are and who God wants us to be and to heal from our past traumas and disappointments so we can love ourselves and, in turn, love others.

We can also heal as a congregation, love each other, and become strong together as we search for a new settled pastor.


Also, at the end of her sermon is some very beautiful music sung by Gillian Delear and piano by Dow Brain.

This  Sunday, April 21, 2024, our Interim Minister, Rev. Becky David centers her sermon on "The Good Shepherd" that John offers us in the Gospels. She relates this to our search for a permanent Pastor. What does it mean to be in a relationship with this "New Shepherd"? The goal is to find mutual love, care, trust, and respect.

This  Sunday, September 3, 2023, which is Labor Day Weekend, Rev. Laura Ruth Jarrett talks about labor, how Jesus pushed himself to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and heal the sick. Jesus turned the attention of the disciples to do good work for the community. We are called to come to church to do the work that Jesus pushes us to do, to labor for the freedom and joy of one another.

This  Sunday, August 13, 2023, Rev. Laura Ruth Jarrett recalls the story of Peter walking on water, a test of Peter's faith and trust in Jesus. Laura Ruth uses the example of water, that we at Hope Central dive into the "waters" to see if Jesus will hold us up. And that we represent Jesus and are "lifeguards" to those who go down too far in the water and need help, just as Jesus did for Peter.

This  Sunday, August 6, 2023, Rev. Laura Ruth Jarrett recalls the teaching of Jesus feeding 5000 + people with a few loaves of bread and a few fish. This  Sunday, July 16, 2023, Rev. Laura Ruth Jared preaches that it takes generations to make a garden - to plant, observe, water, and care. The same can be said of following Jesus' commandment, "to love one another", and it takes generations to get this garden of love and care right too. Hope Central is the garden, and the people of Hope Central are the gardeners - to cultivate the hope of love and justice for all!

This Sunday, February 19, 2023, Rev. Nina Swift ponders the Transfiguration of Jesus while she holds her Grandchild Artemis. Jesus was revealed as fully human by Mary, and fully Holy by the Creator. And Aremis is also fully human and fully holy and how can you be born with "Original Sin" when we are all created in the image of God just like Artemis? Rev. Nina asks us to see who we really are with the help of God.

This Sunday, February 12, 2023, Rev. So typical of a 12-year-old!
